Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Bubbi iOS app and this website. By using Bubbi you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the app.
What Bubbi is
Bubbi is a parenting utility. During a session you start, it plays one synthesised white noise, listens through the microphone, and classifies crying versus fussing versus quiet on your iPhone so the noise can adapt. A night log is stored on the device. Optional guidance suggests when a check-in might help, based on published settling practice and the age you choose to enter.
What Bubbi is not
- Not a medical device, and not a substitute for a clinician.
- Not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Not a claim that there is a maximum safe time for a baby to cry. No such threshold has evidence behind it. Caps in the app protect the parent or flag that it may be time to call someone.
- Not a grade of how well a night went, or of you.
If you are worried about your baby — breathing, colour, fever, injury, or a cry that does not sound like them — contact a doctor, nurse, or emergency service. The app will never tell you not to.
Who may use it
Bubbi is for adults caring for a baby. It is not a children's app and is not directed at anyone under 17 as the primary user. You need an iPhone that can run iOS 17 or later, and you need to grant microphone access for a live session.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Bubbi on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store terms. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app except as the law allows.
Your responsibilities
- You decide when to start and stop a session, and when to go in.
- You are responsible for how you use the guidance. It is a suggestion, not an instruction.
- If you export a labelled recording, you are moving real audio of your baby into Files. Treat that folder as private.
- Do not use Bubbi to monitor someone without their knowledge in a way the law forbids.
Privacy
Audio is analysed on the device and is not uploaded. The Privacy Policy is part of these terms.
No warranty
Bubbi is provided “as is”. Classification can be wrong — a television, a sibling, or a fan can fool a microphone. Verdicts and timings can be wrong. We do not warrant that the app is accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make while settling a baby. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that restriction is forbidden.
App Store
If you downloaded Bubbi from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these terms and Apple's EULA conflict on a point Apple requires, Apple's terms win on that point.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the last revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. If a change is material, we will update this page before the corresponding app version ships.
